AIMIE REID

About me:

I’m a gender-affirming voice specialist based in Cardiff, South Wales, where I deliver remote sessions to clients worldwide. I live with my husband, daughter and my cheeky miniature dachshund, Larry.

I’m a linguistics and dialect nerd at heart - I could talk about it for hours, which is probably why I love my job so much. Voice, language, and identity fascinate me, and I bring that curiosity into every session.

Outside of work, I love being creative; I draw, paint, and have recently started gilding objects with gold leaf — boots, door frames, photo frames, even a pumpkin. At this point, if it stays still long enough, it gets gilded!

I’m a passionate advocate for the Trans community. I’ve spoken at Equality & Diversity fairs, LGBT+ health events, and attended Pride events — including taking my young daughter to Trans Pride. Advocacy and allyship are woven into both my personal and professional life.

I specialise in gender‑affirming voice and communication, offering a collaborative, research‑informed approach that helps clients find authentic, sustainable ways to express their true selves. If you’re exploring your voice, I’d love to support you on that journey.

I prioritise strong, trusting client relationships and strive to create a comfortable, supportive environment in every session. My approach is friendly, adaptable, and evidence‑based, ensuring that sessions are both enjoyable and effective.

My Approach:

Collaborative

I work alongside each client to set goals that reflect their identity, lifestyle, and vocal needs. Therapy is a partnership - your priorities guide every step.

Evidence‑Based

Techniques and exercises are grounded in current research and clinical best practice. Progress is measured with reliable, repeatable methods.

Data‑Driven

I use the latest software to capture detailed acoustic data so we can track change objectively. Visual feedback makes practice clear, more motivating, and more accessible.

Structured Practice

Each client receives a tailored programme for independent practice, with clear milestones and exercises that build skills progressively and sustainably.
